Buyer’s Remorse is finally here!
This book was a challenge for me. Besides having a stronger mystery storyline running through it, Lee is a character with a heavy backstory. I had to tread carefully to make his history real and relevant without bogging down the book with past events. Hopefully, I achieved the right balance!
So far, Buyer’s Remorse is getting good reviews. One reader wrote:
“This author is great at taking a character that isn’t particularly well liked or even the “bad guy” in a previous book and making them a likable MC in the next. It’s so realistic to me because there are always 2 sides to every story, sometimes people are misunderstood, sometimes people get a wake up call and change. The author achieves this so well and this book was no exception.”
This remark caught my attention because it’s true that I have “redeemed” a few disreputable characters, from Julian (Hard Press) to Paul (Bedside Manner) and now Lee (Buyer’s Remorse). I think this theme appeals to me because I fundamentally believe that no one is all good or all bad, but shades of gray. Everyone has their own perspective in life, and most people don’t view themselves as a bad person, even if they make bad choices.
Another theme I touch on in Buyer’s Remorse, which goes hand in hand with redeeming a character, is second chances. Not only second chances, but owning your mistakes and moving on from them to a better future.
Here’s a snippet from another Amazon review:
“Anyone who knows me knows that it is very rare that I give a book a full 5 star rating. Ms Jamison earned every single one of those stars with this book. … This book is about second chances. It shows us how people can make mistakes, sometimes terrible mistakes, but learn from them, own them and go onto to become good, responsible people. It deals with some tough subjects and doesn’t just gloss over the hard facts surrounding those subjects. It shows that our pasts, both the good and the bad, help makes us who we are but it’s how we choose to move forward that defines our future.”
I really appreciate all the support Buyer’s Remorse has received from readers! If you haven’t yet purchased your copy, it’s available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. It’s discounted to 99 cents for a limited time, as is Book 1, Full Disclosure.

Will love persevere when the truth comes out?
I changed my name, but I can’t change what I did. My brothers died, and I spent three years in witness protection. Returning to Fields, where I once hid out, feels right. Seeing Miguel again feels even better. But when a dead body interrupts my tour of a building for sale, my start isn’t as fresh as I’d like.
I’ve been trying to curb my habit of leaping into bad relationships, but when Lee comes back to town, he’s hard to resist. Kids are dying, and life’s too short to shy away from a good thing. But will Lee’s mysterious past come back to bite me?
Between police questioning and trials of trust, it’s far from smooth sailing. If we don’t figure out who’s selling synthetic drugs and convince the police Lee is not their man, we may all have a severe case of buyer’s remorse.
